Ineffable Ontological Detanglement .: Introspective Assistance & Mental Analysis Manual

Humanistic Academia: Kit Carruthers' Commentary
Now, with any other interest... Music, literature, film, yes you are correct if you see it on a person's shelf you assume this person likes it. With academia, and especially humanistic academia, we absolutely must drop the standard that if you see a person's book on a person's shelf, that this person must respect the work of this person. Often times it is exactly the opposite, our interest in studying this person's work goes to dark places. It needs to be removed entirely from your mind, you know absolutely nothing about this person's perspective based on the academic literature on their shelf. Some people feel they need to hide these books, I can't put this book on my bookshelf because somebody may come over and think I am within the cult of this lunatic. Some people will just never buy them. We feel the need to be this because of all of you simple minded academics making assumptions and associations, we know how your minds work, we likely have natural perceptual filter bypass and you most certainly do not.
